Located in a floor zone near downtown Rye, the project is constrained by physical and budget constraints. In order to build the site to it’s full potential the solution was to raise the building on a pedestal to allow parking underneath and keep the major portion of the building above the flood level. As the majority of the clients are serviced by personal trainers the membership numbers are limited and exclusive. The pedestal is constructed of flat slab concrete while the remainder of the superstructure is lightweight steel to save money. The exterior is metal siding, recycled wood and curtainwall.
