| Gin Lane Restaurant, 14th Street and 9th Avenue, Meatpacking District, NY 5,000 Square Feet, $2 Million The former “Village Idiot” pub was recreated in the image of an elegant speakeasy with a fully retracting automatic skylight, custom five foot skylights and hand-made French wallpaper. Given real estate prices in one of New York’s most popular night spots, the owners wanted to maximize their ground floor plate and it was necessary to excavate 12 feet down in an existing building to create space for the kitchen, restrooms and private lounge. Project includes a Landmarked façade and drinks designed by Dale Degroff. With Cuoco Black. |
